Junior Research Group

Quantum Correlations in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science

It will be the scientific target of the research group to develop algebraic and statistical tools for the robust characterization of entanglement in ever larger composite quantum systems, and to formulate a theoretical framework for the unified understanding of Bell inequalities, entanglement witnesses and measures.

This will happen in close cooperation with research groups from theoretical physics, mathematics and computer science, where physics and computer science will focus on the various aspects of possible applications of quantum information science, while mathematics will provide the appropriate methodology. In particular those research groups of the cooperating departments which host expertise on representation theory, random matrices, (quantum) stochastic processes, high dimensional eigenvalue problems and algorithmic structures will be natural partners of the proposed group. Reciprocally, the new research group will stimulate a sustained strengthening of the scientific collaboration between the three partner departments.
